macbook password question

happy new macbook owner. but i made a mistake somehow regarding the password for my mail. I made up a password, and for all things mac such as i tunes, everything is fine. But when I try to access my mail right between finder and dashboard (which is sbcglobal/yahoo mail address) I get a message "mail can't verify the identity of....."
I think this is because I gave mac a new this new made up password and not the one for yahoo mail. I'm having a problem finding a fix. Any tips?

1. It sounds like you're trying to use the password that you set up with your mac instead of the

password you should be using for your internet carrier. You can access your email password via Mail -> Preferences -> Accounts.
