Every time I insert a blank CD in my MacBook, it's taking forever for the CD icon to show up on the desktop.
Also, the CD icon doesn't show up in iTunes, either, and all my attempts at burning a disc have resulted in the blank CD being ejected.
Even a few days ago, I could burn CDs with no problem. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks.

1. Is it a CD format that your Mac supports? |
|
My older G5 drive will not support CD+ROM, only CD-ROM.

3. I had the same issue... |

Had to have the drive replaced. Good thing it was still under warranty. Try inserting some different types of discs DVD, audio, etc. Mine would play DVDs but nothing else. The drive would make some noise for a few seconds and them spit the disc out.

4. I had to replace my drive |
|
because it wouldn't take any media at all. The drive would spit out any CD, DVD, DVR I put in it. Just whir it around for a second or two then spit it back out.
Luckily I discovered it before the warranty was out. They replaced it at the AppleStore.

6. I had a drive problem with my G5 a while ago that was different. |
|
I couldn't burn a disc from iTunes.
After the latest update, it seems to have fixed itself.
