My Powerbook will not stay closed! |
|
The magnet seems ok, and the little latches seem unimpeded, but it keeps popping open which means I can never just put it on sleep, I have to go full shut down--or put something on top of it to keep it closed. What's a gal to do?

1. I received a 17" used Powerbook for Xmas, apparently we have the same problem |

It seems the display is warped. Apple told me it would cost $$$$ to repair it.
So, I decided to make a pair of "scrunchies" basically I sewed a piece of soft cloth together and inserted elastic thru the tube of cloth. You don't really need two, but I made two just in case. Whenever I shut it, sometimes it will stay shut, sometimes not, so I put the "scrunchy" on it. Works great especially when traveling.
I hope this gives you some ideas.

My Powerbook is a refurb, so maybe this is why it was turned in and refurbed. I appreciate the suggestion. I used to have looooong hair and have some big scrunchies I can put to use. :hi:
