help!

We bought a mac a couple of months ago because we were tired of our pc crashing and having to replace it three times in the last six years.
We are not very computer literate and having problems doing what were simple task on our pc.
The latest problem is getting our mac to recognize our all in one hp printer.
We can print but the scanner doesn't work.
Have downloaded drivers but still our mac will recognize print only.
We also can not burn our youtube dvds.
Any suggestions?

1. I can tell you this, printers and printer software is the BANE of my existence...

I dont know why but they cause more problems than they are worth.

apple has some good support discussions, you may want to ask that over there.

What software are you trying to use to burn your DVDs with?
