Comcast says I have a virus |
|
I got an email that "my computer" was sending spams, "probably" a result of a virus.
I removed Norton when I realized that it was working only with system 9 and was interfering with 10.
And I really do not send and receive that many emails.
So they disabled my ability to send email and their "problems solving" was to go to the web, using IE which, of course, I do not, and mentioned only Outlook. I use Mac Mail.
So I called them and with the automatic menu selected the sales dept. where I knew I would be connected to a live person and I asked him to connect me to support.
We went through some changes in the Mail preferences and it is OK, now.
I am going to tell my spouse, who is also on Comcast but does not use an smtp mail program at all, only Yahoo, to look into it, too.
