imac firmware 1.4 released today |
|
Just installed it.
Must be in preparation for OSX 10.6 - which I'm looking forward to getting! :D

Did you get the software from an automatic check or did you go find it.
One of the things I love about my mac, is that any and all updates (including security packages), for pretty much everything I run, come directly from Apple.

2. Thanks! Good ol' Photoshop; darn easy to make animated GIFs... |

Automatic updates, yup. All automatic, no fiddling with BIOS or floppies or anything.
When I first shut down and rebooted, I heard a nasty tone. 10 seconds* later, it powered back on and updated the EFI. Runs as nicely as ever; either it was a security thing or a prep for 10.6; firmware updates don't happen without good reasons. Given Apple's control on the hardware, it's not to add rogue compatibility for some 3rd party piece of fluff.
* felt like 1000 seconds; I was dead scared I'd screwed something up. Fortunately I hadn't.

3. I laugh out loud every time: |
|
1) My husband spends half a day dealing with viruses and what not
2) My husband spend a whole day trying to find and download updates for his various programs
3) My husband spends two days trying to repair the conflicts that his various updates have caused
4) Just about every time he has to reboot and wait five minutes for the thing to come back up.
I just spend my days laughing.
