Odd. DriveWarrior and Drive Genius 2.2...
Mac file system (ditto for Linux's EXT3) are less prone to fragementing, but I know it can happen even in the best of times.

Do any of you bother with hard drive utilities? Or is just using Time Machine to back up sufficient?

1. I use DiskWarrior
But only when little things start going wrong OR in a big emergency, not as a regular maintenance thing. I highly recommend it to anyone who owns a Mac.
