Can I boot Linux from a thumb drive? I'm willing to give it a try. |

1. There's a website dedicated to the subject: |
|
http://www.pendrivelinux.com/Various distros may have more convenient methods: for example, http://www.puppylinux.com/flash-puppy.htmA general utility that will enable you to do this (using, say, an iso file) is UNetbootin: http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/

3. I bought Yellow Dog Linux |
|
I don't know anything at all about this, but I wanted to try. I still haven't installed it. Do you think it's a good program, if you've used it? Thanks.

4. I used YellowDog for years. I liked it. If you have a PS3, YellowDog will |
|
run on it. I think the PS3 and the XboX are PPC processors.
YellowDog always seemed really polished.

I have an iMac G5 PPC to install it on. It's getting old, but it's still chugging. I'm going to figure out how to install Yellow Dog and give it a shot this weekend. Thanks again.

6. It's not that hard to install. If you screw it up, start over. Using Linux will |
|
teach you about the UNIX underpinnings of OSX.
