Need a used keyboard for my ol' iMac G5 |
|
One that works better than mine. Shift lock key doesn't work anymore. I'm in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles.

1. Just about any would work. I've used the Logitech PS2 keyboard. Just about |

any USB keyboard will work.
Before you chuck it out, clean it to see if that will work. I thought this was dead and gone until I turned it upside down and shook it out. I've spilled coffee, tea, soda and beer on this keyboard and it keeps on working. It's nine years old and is good as new. . I"ve put it under a faucet several times to clean out the spilled liquids. I let it dry out and it worked every time.
One bad thing about this keyboard: the clear plastic used. I can see bread crumbs and some old bird food inside.

2. Yes, tried cleaning it. |

Popping the keys off to do it proper, which has helped in the past with other keyboards, but not this one. Shift/Lock and Tab just won't work anymore. Thanks for your info, though. Guess my next step is to start calling around at local repair shops for an orphan keyboard.

3. You can get a good keyboard for next to nothing. The Logitech cost $19.95. |

Kensington makes good products too. I've used their trackballs for ten years.
