A touchpad is currently for me both "cool: i want one" and "well: i don't really need it" sort of thing. Since it's serving double duty as an I/O device, it's subject to extra wear-and-tear, so tuning it for appropriate responsiveness (don't have to thump it too hard, and don't have to repeatedly correct mistakes from oversensitivity) might be important

rather than a piano, if that makes sense.
The screen is VERY sensitive. You only have to give it the barest tap when you select: a letter, a symbol, a link on a web page.
