Audio Output Settings (in Logic) |
|
Cross-posted with another forum, but I'm desperate!
I recorded music from my keyboard, through a M-Audio Firewire thing (forgot what these are called -- audio interface?) then into Logic. Easy -- sounds fine through my headphones (which are plugged into the keyboard).
However, when "bounced" to mp3, there was no sound. I could hear other mp3s, though, so the general settings and speakers seem okay. Then I tried listening to the Logic files without headphones -- unplugged them, turned off keyboard, etc -- still no sound.
I'm sure it's a setting but for the life of me, I can't find it!! VERY frustrating as I need to send the music to some people who need it asap.
:argh:

Just in case anybody can help me solve this puzzle, I CAN play/hear other Logic files that I created in the same way (through Logic Express rather than Logic Pro).

2. Well in case anybody's reading, I got an answer!!! |
|
I knew it'd be stupid, but it was somewhat less stupid than it could have been...
I took the iMac to the MacStore for a One-to-One (LOVE that service).
I'd recorded the music with my keyboard as a MIDI instrument, so it recorded as a MIDI file. Thus I could hear the music from my keyboard, because the keyboard was serving as its voice...
It wasn't assigned an instrument, in part because my LaCie drive -- where I have my Steinway sounds are stored -- is on the fritz, and in part because I'm not always smart.
So, create a new track, copy the old one into it, assign it a software instrument, and voila!! It plays, it bounces, it goes into iTunes, it makes a CD!!
These are the kinds of things that kept me from being able to make music on my PC for YEARS.... I love my Mac!!! :loveya:
