What word or text program do you recommend? |
|
Still in process of setting up our new Mac and it came with Text Edit, which I hate and have already had issues with. Used to have Appleworks and didn't mind it but now unable to get that program so does anyone have any recommendations? I have Photoshop CS5 but it is a hassle for text. Is there anything similar to Appleworks?

1. If you don't want to pay, you could try NeoOffice. |

I usually use Pages, from Apple's iWorks though

It takes a bit of time to start up, but then works fine for me. Has a word processor, spreadsheet, drawing/presentation packages, etc. I like it enough that I haven't used MS Office on my personal machines in years.
Works on Windows, Macs, Linux distros...

5. Actually, I like Text Edit, but Open Office works well. I configured it so it doesn't take over. |
