I have been "stuck" in GD fending off people who think that Florida is a hell hole.
When did liberals become so hateful? I thought our platform was to help our fellow man?
I cannot believe half of what I am reading.... it's heartbreaking....

This is probably the stupidest thing I've been hearing. Though I'm not currently residing in a "red state", two of the three states I've lived in were very "red states" (Virginia and Colorado). So I know a thing or two about people there. Generalizing that all people in red states are illiterate Republican hicks who wouldn't vote for a Democrat if you paid them is wrong. Don't forget there are Democrats and progressives EVERYWHERE, so by making this generalization you are automatically disenfranchising those who aren't part of the description. Besides, what troubles me most is not only does a lot of anti-Southern sentiment circulate from this, but that in a country that is deeply divided, if you're saying they need to secede, YOU'RE NOT HELPING.

A few weeks ago I had to inform someone that Timothy McVeigh was born & raised in upstate New York.
That was after it was suggested that Oklahoma got what it deserved from it's homegrown whack job! WTF????
I am thankful as hell that Bush is from a Blue state!

that's how they get us. As long as we're fighting amongst ourselves we don't fight them! It's a total waste of time and resources.

and about 40-42% of the state voted Democratic in the election. I feel the same way when it comes to labeling all as either completely red, or completely blue. I'll wager there are some counties/regions in the blue states which went red.
We need to work together folks, not argue.

I have lived in the south all my life. I know that we have our share of ignorants and racists, but that is not all who live here. All the red blue business did was serve to divide this nation further. There is NO state in the union where 100% of the people voted Republican or Democrat. Blue states have Republicans who live there and Red States have Democrats. Some counties in Blue states are Red counties and some counties in Red states are Blue counties. It's insane!!
