the oatmeal raisin cookie recipe on the back of the Hershey's cinnamon chips is incredible! Those little chips are full of hydrogenated crap that is no way good for anyone, and I normally would pass them by, but OMG! the cookies they make might just be worth it.
Make big ones and watch your spacing coz those bad boys spread pretty good in the oven. :9

it seems, to me anyway, to be THE secret for great oatmeal raisin cookies...lots of recipes do not call for it at all.

and I find the secret to keeping your cookies from getting too hard is to slightly, and I do mean very slightly, underbake them and leave them sit on the cookie sheet for one minute before removing. Then put them in an air-tight container on top of a piece of wax paper with a slice of bread under it. That bread slice is the clincher. It will be rock hard when all those scrumptiously chewy cookies are gone.
That being said, I like mine with crispy edges and chewy middles.

Those cinnamon chips are like crack. I use them in coffee cake and yes those Oatmeal Cookies have contributed to at least 5lbs on my butt. BTW--They are even better if you add a bag of chocolate chips to the mix along with the cinnamon chips. (Don't tell, but if I'm making a double batch I have also added those butterscotch chips to the mix too :wow: )
I'm making my green tomato mincemeat cookies next week so thanks for reminding me to pick those little gems up at the grocery this week.

about it tasting good. But that kinda stuff only makes it into the house very rarely. Scratch baking is still the bomb and wins hands down!

I was all ready to pick up a sack today plus anything else I needed but they didn't have the cinnamon chips. So I'm going to try Safeway. They can always get them for me but I was ready to-day!
Are they a mild flavor? I found a sweet potato cookie recipe that called for choco chips. I figure to substitute the cinnamon chips. That ought to be wildly good for the holidays.

They seem to have a pretty strong flavor. Hope you can find them at Safeway.
Sweet potato cookies sound great and I think these chips would be perfect for them.
