My cousin has a fruit and vegetable stand and he closed it for the season last weekend.
I bought a whole bunch of discounted stuff.
Had never seen these before . . .
http://www.pdphoto.org/PictureDetail.php?mat=&pg=8214and I found them really intriguing so I had to snag one.
I had thought it was cauliflower but later learned that most consider it a variety of broccoli. It's called Romenesco.
Then I wished I'd gotten some kale so I bought some today elsewhere.
Am going to make a curry.
I thinking that I'm going to saute onions, garlic, peppers, porta shrooms, add some vegetable broth, grated carrots, (maybe some string beans) really skinny eggplant, purple cauliflower, the romenesco, and the kale, then pears, and apples.
I know that it might seem as though I'm adding way too many ingredients but that's how I cook. I like every bite to taste like a party in one's mouth.
Just can't decide whether to thicken the sauce with tiny red potatoes, black beans, wild rice, or ginger and brown rice.
Open to suggestions.
Thanks in advance and happy fall.
