Anybody here slow cooked a rib roast?

Alton Brown suggests roasting @ 200-250 to an internal temp of 120f, resting and finishing @ 500 to crisp the outside. So, for timing purposes how long does it take to get to that 120f? My roast is almost 8 pounds.

1. I use another slow cook recipe I found on the Food.com site.

In fact, I just used it on a 5 3/4 lb. roast and it came out perfect. I don't know how long an 8 lb. roast would take, but maybe you could make some guesstimates based on the recipe. I increased the cooking time 5 mins. on each end and it came out medium rare.
