I have had a food processor that has issues for years. My mom should have returned it when she got it. Yes, it was defective, but she did not realize it. So taking it out of the counter and using it was not exactly a joy.
So my MIL sent us a Macy's card... and I treated myself... between the discount and the card I got a really GOOD piece of kit for about 120....
Yes, I can do my doughs that call for food processor on it, and I can also do the rest of it.
Yes, it also WORKS, with no effort.
It is now seating on my counter top. The old unit is going to goodwill. It is still a working unit. It is just not easy to use. I hope whoever gets it finds a use for it, I really do. Me... a nice new piece of kit that I will use tomorrow.... if not the day after tomorrow. I feel like making some good biscotti, to be honest.
Yes, I did have to pay the difference, but in this case, should be a machine to last me for the rest of my life, to be honest.

chocolate chips. I want to heavily modify the yummy recipe in the book for gluten free. If not I might just go get the rest of the ingredients. Have fresh cookies when hubby comes come.
I am thinking, use the same amount of flower (GF) and replace sugar with half splenda (Yes you need about half) and see how that works.

I was looking to see if I had enough chocolate, I could make do with the bars I got for just eating... but I need flour...
Between the diabetes and the gluten allergy... oy. I gotta modify a lot of stuff to be able to enjoy.
I just looked at the clock. I am going tomorrow. Yes I could, but at this time of year I know better than to tempt faith more than necessary with possible drunks on the road.

| 11. I live alone, so it's the 7 cup jobbie for me |

but I've used cheap ones before and they really don't stand up to much of anything. The Cuisinarts are great.

Why I am taking the old one to Goodwill. It is a cuisinart too. So I am hoping somebody will be able to use it.

Asked for info and recommendations on C&B size, brand, etc. because this is my first FP. Based on that this model fit my needs and wallet.
Very nice looking, I leave it on the counter and I have minuscule counter space but, it has a small footprint.
Enjoy nadin :)

It now sits on my counter.
My old one went to Goodwill yesterday and I even have space for things up there as well. I also leave my mixer down. I know it looks messy, but I am SHORT and really will NOT use it unless it is reachable.
Oh and the cookies are very good.A treat. I will not make them too often I know. But hell... we can use a treat from time to time.

are worth the investment. And if you get a great deal on them... even better! :)
Enjoy!

I was going to wait until tomorrow... and the Gluten Free behaved almost like regular AP flour...
They look good, will need to bake them in two batches. Reality is that one of these days I should write down my heavily modified recipes, and perhaps even submit them to the Food Network for their magazine. Try to make a living out of my allergies.
:-)
Oh and far less mess than with the mixer too.

but the magazine might be a good place. It took longer for them to bake by the way.

| 12. Well started taking notes on the recipe |
|
next time I will vary some of the ratios, as they were a little flaky. Trying to get a chewy one with ingredients that are not in the list. Hey a little chemistry. Once I have the recipe perfected... I will see about submitting it. I need to keep it easy to do, but I also realize that with gluten free flours, since there is no gluten, they work a tad different. I might add xanthan gum next time... it is a nice binder.

almost slap across the face hints, but still no processor. x(
Think I'll have to do it all on my own.
Congrats on yours. I'm sure you'll enjoy it! :hi:
