| Fried cabbage with ham (and sausage) |
|
Had a nice slice of ham and a piece of chorizo sitting in the fridge, was feeling like something at least a little healthy after the holidaze - remembered a cabbage recipe a friend showed me a few years ago: fry bacon, ham or sausage - whatever - and then fry thinly sliced cabbage in with it, add vinegar, salt and pepper, cook until tender, then enjoy eating and feel good about getting some greens going!
Apple cider vinegar and a little balsamic was what we did this time, the cabbage was the savoy variety, the ham was some kind of sweet "breakfast ham" the chorizo wasn't too spicy, but added a nice paprika flavor to the dish. My friend said he learned this recipe in England.
