| Alert: If you bake with pumpkin regularly, better stock up |
|
Canned pumpkin disappeared from the shelves of my local markets this week. Apparently the suits in corporate offices marketing have decided that pumpkin is strictly a "seasonal" item.
The grocery managers told me that the manufacturer doesn't sell it this time of year. So I called the manufacturer customer service of both Libby and Santiam and was told hell no -- they have millions of cans in stock yet this year.
So I found one store that still has a few cans and will go get some tomorrow. My kitty needs pumpkin!
Pfffft. Suits.

| 1. Pumpkin IS seasonal for us. |

We only bake with it when we can get a whole real pumpkin. But your kitty needs it for digestive reasons, doesn't she, IIRC?

Should be available year 'round. As should fresh butternut or acorn squash.
