    | Umm, a little note about my "eat more fish" trials |

    | |
If you have company over and drink a bit during the process make sure you gather ALL the dishes after you eat.
About 5 days ago a couple came over and we all went in on some shark fillets. We grilled the fillets outside then ate in the living room. My buddy and I often get shark to grill during the summer and basically eat as finger food off the grill.

I don't know if it is a woman custom to not eat everything on plate or what, but the wife of said bud left a small piece of shark on her plate. She placed the plate on the endtable in the living room. No worries usually. My dogs won't get stuff off tables (especially since the "butter incident" but that's another story) and I usually police areas when I sober up the next day.

Well, I've not been heating the living room, so I have no need to go in there.

The amount of stink one, 1 inch by 1 inch, piece of fish creates is remarkable!! :puke:

    | 1. Just be glad it wasn't chicken |

    | | Nothing smells worse than rotting chicken.
You'll have to wait for the first nice day and open the windows wide to air it out. "Nice" means 50 degrees. And windy, please. Then you'll have to Febreze the hell out of anything upholstered because the stink will have permeated it all.

However, it can be done. Please don't ask me how I know this.

    | 6. I know that one oh too well |

    | | Chicken is a cheap meat; to add, I live alone, and it can take me 2-3 weeks to fill a trash bag. I plan that meal according to how close trash is to full :D

    | 10. I live alone and I cook |

    | | so I bought smaller trash bags. It takes me about a week to fill one. I do plan "those" meals of things like shrimp or chicken for the last three days. |

    | | of one of my own misadventures several years ago.
Had dinner at a nice Dallas area resturant. I ordered grilled fish. Because the portion size was considerably larger than I expected I had a nice little take out box for lunch the next day. Carried it out and put it in my car - where it stayed in the Texas heat until it was discovered the following afternoon. Did I mention this happened in July?

Stink? OMG! Words cannot describe the odor in that car. I kept boxes of baking soda in the car for awhile - and when I was required to drive it I always had the windows down. Otherwise I took DART.

Even though everyone told me I was imagining it I swear I could still detect a faint trace of that smelly fishy odor when I sold that car several years later.

Please note this odor was far worse than the car odor that resulted from the milk carton that leaked in the car trunk and saturated the carpet. Neither were pleasant - and both lingered far too long.
