because that's pretty much the way I cook these days, nothing particularly fussy or elaborate and screw the layering of flavors. I like to taste the main flavors, thanks, without having them muddied up by too much other stuff.
And if anyone ever serves me a plate with foam on it, I'm sending it back.

just dropped in anything I could find. Leftovers are smaller these days but I had a bit of beans, some spinach, etc. plus some things in the freezer that wouldn't feed four but were too much for two so I dropped them in. Added tomatoes and some other veggies and it was a hearty, frugal soup!
