Tempura Dandelion Flowers. We eat them like candy. Pick the flowers in the early morning from a location that does not get road dust or any possibility of herbicide. Mix a package of tempura mix and toss in as many flowers as can fit and still be covered with batter. Gently sauté in a frying pan with a shallow amount of oil. I choose to turn the flowers rather than use a lot of oil. Remove to paper towels for oil absorption and lightly salt. Try to eat just a few.

Take a pinch of one or more flowers and add to hot oil, don't crowd.
