| 1. I don't get that sort of thing. |

A disproportionate number people who cause me grief and annoyance are between the ages of 16 and 90. Is my experience really that unique?

| 3. Page back a few on the Lounge... |
|
and you will see a lot of posts that got so ugly and weird that a lot of people bailed on The Lounge tonight. Very strange, the tone was much more GD than Lounge. Most controversial posts had to do with kids in restaurants, children's behavior, and whether 'liking' kids was a mandatory thing (the latter started by someone who did not like kids).
Dunno, the whole 'kid' thing just came to a boil in The Lounge tonight around 6:30 p.m. EST or so.

Most of posts in the anti-kid flamefest in The Lounge have been locked. Look at the posts between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. EST.
Very cool. I don't care whether you like kids or not, my experience has taught me that a kid hater is just a person who hasn't had kids, but the comments were getting way out of hand, and the Mods did the right thing.

| 5. We all think we are experts at dealing with children until we have them. |

Then we find out it isn't quite so easy.

I will take your word on it.
There is something in GD right now about how boring mothers become after they have kids. Hey, one of us raised you, you know!
It is statistically likely that most of these people will have kids someday. They will get theirs

I'm the most boring person I know. But maybe it's because I'm so fried all the time that I don't have the energy to be ab fab....

Non-parents are sooooo boring. All they want to do is talk about themselves. Me, me, me all day long.
We are not boring. We are busy doing important work. Besides, if you take time for yourself, people will accuse you of being selfish and not focusing ENOUGH on your kids. No win.

saying, "Please, don't allow young singles into bars." You know, they drink, they cuss, they pile out onto the streets at closing time and piss on your lawn, waking up decent families :-)
