I've posted concerns I've had about my son in the Lounge and often gotten vitriolic responses; I'm not a good parent, kids should be seen and not heard; just awful stuff.
There are dozens of mothers and even a few single fathers here at DU, too.
In a world as W rong as this one may become, we need this now more than ever.
I'm looking forward to sharing all of our wisdom, and also the chance to safely vent our frustrations!

mom to 2 little ones 3 and 3...soon to be 4, my hubby travels 2-3 weeks a month....so I really need a forum like this one. :)

My husband used to leave on Monday..return on Friday, and I was IT for 3 boys under 5...It ALWAYS snowed 4ft on Monday afternoon:grr: and by Friday the sun was shining..No snow duty for Dad:)

I'm 38. I'm hoping for one more by the time I turn 40. Late is great, in my book. Although I gotta admit those three AM feedings make me wish I still had the energy of a 25 year old.

Kind of disappointed me. They weren't even just Republicans, they made fun of Gore (at the time) and made a lot of uninformed comments about Bill Clinton and Bush, etc... I must say I'm happy to discuss parenting issues with liberal, similarly minded folks.
Single mom here too.
