A biopsy & polycystic ovaries

Polycystic ovaries -- that's the reason my 13-year-old isn't having regular cycles. We've got some medication that will force her into a period and then other medicine to keep her regulated.

Before we start either of those, she's scheduled for a biopsy for the lump. It doesn't look like cancer, according to the doctor, but they want to grab some and test it. We continue to wait, but are feeling much more hopeful than we were over the weekend.

As a sidenote here, if the pharmacist gives me any grief in filling these prescriptions for a 13-yr-old, there will be a national headline about a petite Iowa woman clawing out the eyes of said pharmacist. LOL!

I have PCOS, and it's been a challenge for me. But I hope you and your daughter's doctor can monitor it so she won't have too many problems as an adult!

It's a much more scary proposition than what our doctor presented to us yesterday, huh? Okay, to be fair, she did mention the possibility of infertility and cancer, but only in passing.

Oh boy...

That is good, right? Although I don't know what polycystic ovaries are either.
