2. 16 months
17 months next week. He is talking a bit more and I realize that it's harder on parents than kids for kids to learn how to feed themselves with utensils. Eating takes a lot longer now and it is a lot messier but he enjoys the independence!

Also since daylight savings time his new thing is to go outside walking after dinner and after a while he will park his little keister on the curb and to all the cars coming in and out of our condo complex as well as every plane that flies above us he will wave and say Bye bye Bye bye. Cute as can be!

3. Awwwww!!!!!!
How sweet.

I always set them up in the high chair and let them go to town with the self feeding. Sometimes I would even remove all clothing except a diaper to aid clean up if I knew it was going to be really messy.

My son, who is 2-1/2, is much tidier with the self feeding now, but I caught him putting his head in the dog bowl the other day, so I guess he has just moved on to new messy ways to experiment with the universe.

4. Self feeding
I gave him an adult size spoon instead of the little baby spoons that could hold much on them and he is doing pretty well now. But it is still dependent on the consistency of the food. Oatmeal good, yogurt ok, Peas and organic macaronie not so good. After a while he'll just end up picking them up with his hands!

If you haven't tried Aunt Annies organic mac and cheese it is the best! http://www.annies.com/products/orgched.html Found it on accident and my local grocery store. Have fun with your little one!

5. He's Adorable!!
Enjoy your time with him, they are so precious at this age and time goes by so fast. My "little" boy turned 14 last month. He's almost as tall as I am and I am just under 5'8".

12. Walking...
a blessing and a curse!

Actually now that he moves around I know when he is into something he shouldn't be.... clue: It is eerily quiet! When I can't hear him I know he is into something.
