| At what age did your kids start to have nightmares? |
|
My son has been waking up a few times a week. He says, "mommy, I scared, mommy come get me". Melts my heart.
Anyway, last night at 2am he woke up. I went to him and he told me a wild tale about biting dinosaurs. He bit back, apparently. He didn't seem to terrified, more like he had a wild adventure and wanted to tell me about it.
Anyone else remember this phase? Any recommendations? I added a night light already, which seems to help. My daughter rarely wakes at night, so this is kind of new to me.

but I think it was about 21/2 to 3. With my oldest, we read "Where the Wild Things Are" and that helped. The book scared my younger daughter. What helped both was the book, I forget the title, which was about how Mom will always come find you. I'll look it up if you want.
I read recently that nightlights may actually be harmful and hinder sleep. Both my kids used them but I think I would try to avoid that habit now. Good luck.

it wasn't til he was 5 that i learned those dreams were of Big Bird chasing him. i felt so bad because i'd been plopping him in his high chair in front of sesame street every afternoon while i prepared the evening meal.
