| So many parents serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. |

This really has begun to concern me. Iraq/Afghanistan are in many ways unique; parents weren't nearly on the front lines as much as they are now.
Every loss of life in combat is regrettable, but if that loss is a parent (or even grandparent) the impact is much more far-reaching.
Already we know that the VA is tretched beyiond capacity. Is there any hope for the children of Iraq/Afghanistan vets? Imagine the emotional trauma they face, even if mom/dad/gramp returns healthy? And of course, far, far too many parents won't return healthy.
I consider myself VERY fortunate in that no one close to my family is involved. I can't imagine leaving my child to go into combat.

| 1. Remember Newt's orphanages proposal? |

I honestly think this whole PNAC unending wars mess is why that was put forward, and will probably be enacted. There's no money to be made by putting kids in foster homes. But, if there is a network of faith-based initiative-funded orphanges....another loyal bush* supporter rakes in the dough. :scared:
