The past few months have been tough, the kid passed me in height and is asserting his independence. He's 14 and it is to be expected. All of a sudden, the kid gets the flu and all he wants is Mom. We've snuggled on the couch and watched movies, I've fed him chicken soup and rubbed his back to help him sleep. Chances are I'll catch his flu, but it will be worth it. My kid still needs me and that makes it all worthwhile.

at that age, he needed an arm's length between us and to be dropped off a block away from where he wanted to go. (under no circumstances was I to get OUT of the car) oh, did I feel rejected!
all is well now, he is 28 and a sterling guy. we are very close again - heart and soul. the journey is beautiful.
