My daughter's friend is driving me batshit |
|
...and I'm beginning to think she's driving her father batshit as well.
They're both 16 years old (no, not the father). They go to school together, they work together, they have sleepovers (my turn this weekend).
I'm not even sure what it specifically is about her that's bugging me except I think she may be making my daughter wilder than she already is (which in the bigger picture isn't all that wild from what people are telling me).
She's a nice enough kid, I guess - just not very bright. When she suggests stupid things, my daughter goes along. Typical example, she talked my daughter into cranking up my car stereo and blew a speaker. My daughter gets all excited that we HAVE to go visit "her" friend and it eventually turns out it's the other kid's friend.
I don't really want to discourage the friendship - she's a nice enough kid, just not really up to my standards. I just want my daughter to wise up a bit around her.
Suggestions?

2. I don't think there's much you can do |

Some of my daughter's friends drive me insane. The giggles :shudder: You're daughter is responsible for whatever she does and you should make that clear. Otherwise I guess you can hope for a boyfriend.

4. She goes through boyfriends like I go through Speedos |

I hated the last one - he was really creepy and he looked like lasting longer than usual. She dumped in last month. At the moment she's too busy (school, work, cadets, music, helping unpack) to get into much trouble.

She had a friend since 7th grade. I don't know what it was about those two, but when they got together, they got in trouble. Finally, when they were about 15, both of us moms said "that's it". They just couldn't hang around with each other outside of school. It worked. They both went their own directions, as much as you can in a town of 7,000, and they're both 20 and doing great. And good friends now too. So it all depends I guess.
