| Exercise videos for kids and moms? |
|
My daughter and I are becoming couch potatoes because it's too darned hot outside to do anything. (And I mean hot....100 degrees is common here.) She's watching too much TV and I'm surfing the net too much. :hide:
I've packed on a few pounds and she is suddenly chunkier than I've ever seen her. She's only six and has been normal weight so far. Even now, she would not be considered overweight, but I see that she's gained a wee bit of "baby fat" and I don't want her starting down that road.
She loves my workout videos but most are too long, complicated and boring for her. Also, I've been healing from a back problem and will have to get some strength back before I do those videos again. So I would love something fairly easy, maybe some light dancing or calisthenics.
Does anyone know of any cute videos for kids that we could do together? Something short and colorful and fun to get our hearts pumping for a few minutes at least?

| 1. We used to do "Yoga Kids" together. |

It was a cute video, although not heart pumping.
I picked up an indoor bouncy castle on sale last spring. I inflate it in the garage and let the kids go wild on really hot or rainy days. Not great for mom, especially with a back problem, but the kids love it.
If you go early in the AM before it gets hot, you could jog a bit and your daughter could ride her bike or scooter.
You might try x-posting in exercise and fitness group as well. Those folks may have some ideas, too.

I think she'd like that. Thanks. But think we need to find a heart-pumping video too.
Our garage is not air-conditioned and is very hot, so the bouncy thing wouldn't work for us. (Great idea, though!) And I work very early in the mornings, so morning walks wouldn't work either. Evenings are so busy with dinner and dishes and baths. There never seems to be time in the evening. I know, I know.....:nopity:
We do have from noon until dinner free every day. Once a week we go to our friend's pool, and we do stuff like go to the library and museums, but that's not exercise. We need to move. I think I will cross post to the exercise forum. Thanks, I didn't think of that.
