So who else can recite "Goodnight Moon" from memory? |
|
On an unrelated note, my two year old sang me Twinkle Twinkle Little Star tonight, but it was gwangol gwangol oooh oooh tar. Pronunciation was a little off, but he had the rhythm and intonation just right. Too cute. :loveya:

2. I can, annoyingly enough |
|
It pops into my mind at weird moments, too. All it takes to set me off is "goodnight...."

3. I used to be able to do it |
|
My son loved that book. He's now 13, what I would give to be able to read it to him again! Somehow, I don't think he'd sit for it though.

Not only can I recite that one from memory (and it comes in handy when my toddler gets fussy in the car) but I can recite The 12 Dogs of Christmas too. We like the "7 huskies howling" because we have a husky and boy does he howl.

6. I've forgotten most of them |
|
:-( Bits and pieces pop up but not the entire book or song. I had this lullaby I adapted that I always sang to my children. I couldn't remember it. My kids couldn't remember it. For a week or so, I pestered them and racked my memory until I finally remembered it. My advice is to write this stuff down because you do forget.

7. For me, it's "Robert the Rose Horse" |
|
My 3 year old loves it. We read it every night. When he was littler, it was "Because a Little Bug Went Kerchoo" and "Go Dog, Go". My 13 month old's current favorite is a card board book about teddy bears and shapes.

8. Funny, I never read this book as a child |
|
But it seems to be the most popular child's book out there and is quite old. I'm sure it was around when I was little.
The best part is finding the mouse on each page.

I love the entire book. The cadence is very soothing and I dig the orange and green illustrations. But I don't remember reading it as a child, either. Maybe I was just too young.

11. Sure! Plus, I'm a Zizzer Zazzer Zuzz, as you can plainly see! |
|
lol My hubby was busting up laughing a few nights ago because he was playing Battlefield 1942 online, and started chatting with another player whose name was "Zizzer Zazzer Zuzz!" (From Dr. Seuss's ABC Book)
My hubby asked, "You're a parent, right?" And the guy responded, "Can you tell?!" lol
I'm thinking of changing my online name to The Man With the Big Yellow Hat! ;) (just 'curious' to see what reaction I'd get' yuk yuk yuk)

12. Curious George would be a better name |

But, for some reason, it is probably taken here at DU.
