Hi everyone, I normally don't post here but you guys seem to have such good ideas I thought I'd ask an opinion. My son (11) had a friend ride home on the bus with him today. I have never met, nor spoken to this kids Mom. The kid has given me no instructions with regards to time when his Mom wants him home and the mother NEVER called me. He is asking me to drop him off at another kid from my son's schools house so he can go out with this kid. I have told him to call his mother and that I will ONLY bring him to his house, not this other kids house. He is now obviously stalling me and says his mother is not home. I REFUSE to drop him anywhere but HOME. Am I CRAZY?

I would keep him there until he gives you his mom's number and you call his mom, and I would make certain your son knows that isn't kosher, either.
I'm a little freaked myself today, I'm the author of "World's worst Parenting Day," below.

again to this forum. I really hadn't looked for a parenting forum before. I'm glad I found this one. My kids are older than yours 11 and 15. I may have some advice for others. They are good kids really, but days like this make me wonder what I was thinking to let the kid come here in the first place.
OOPs! Just read your other thread, you have a child much older than mine. So you are the one with the advice! LOL!

Something's fishy. Talk to the mom.

| 4. No-- can you call that kid's house? |
|
He may lie and give you a wrong number, but can you look it up in the phone book or class list or something?
His mom might not be home, and he may have permission to go to different kids' house, but I think you're in the right here.
That's pretty cheek of that kid to hire you on as a chaffeur for his afternoon activities.
