Smoothwall 2

Just want to drop a little dime in praise of Smoothwall 2, the firewall, DHCP, Snort, Proxy and so much more server. Pretty damn easy to setup(in it's basic nick), full of features, great admin screens and it gives you a wonderful use for that computer that is just laying around the house. I run it here on a PII with 128 megs of ram and a 10 gig HDD. Just stuff I had laying around.

Smoothwall 2 is, as you might guess, is free. This is really industrial-strength stuff. I suggest you try it. With a 10/100 switch you can network the house and be damn near bulletproof.
