The link to import the RPM repository appears to be inoperative. According to the instructions
here, one must do a
rpm --import
http://users.telenet.be/quenta/RPM-GPG-KEY-AL-CAPCOM(just clicking this link as a link gives you the GPG key; I have NO idea why it doesn't want to import via rpm)
and then a
rpm -ivh
http://users.telenet.be/quenta/xgl-repository-1.0-1.noarch.rpm(THIS returns a 404 not found- in another language, no less.)
Note that I was able to install both Xgl and Compiz around the date of the OP for this thread. Maybe it got taken down because it was too popular? At any rate, all the instructions I've seen for this refer to these URLs... So now, I get the following errors:
I wonder. Is this a fault of MY machine? Or the source of the key? I just tried to save the page and import it manually, from the local drive, and got the same error.
And that's just for the key, not the actual compiz/Xgl package. I tried to yum it all with the livna repositories, but no dice. It's just... vanished. 404'ed into oblivion, mwahahahaaaa! :D
Does anyone know how I might find another source to get these packages? I'm installing a full linux system for a friend, and i want to surprise him with a cool, slick desktop, which means Xgl and compiz, but the supplied sources are no longer viable.
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
Oh. I have until Oct. 18, around 2-3 PM EST to get this little surprise done. Anyone have any ideas?
