The only thing that ever really bugged me about Ubuntu was how slowly some of the binaries packages were updated after major releases like this. Of course that's not unique to Ubuntu. But it's the one and basically only thing that impresses me about SuSE. Firefox RPMs were available the same day as the release.

I'm not one to jump immediately onto new releases so I'm usually OK with the repositories being a little slow. But I really wanted the latest Firefox...

I'm cautious with most things and will wait for bug reports to surface before upgrading. I don't even do kernel upgrades immediately. Ubuntu follows Debian, and Debian's mantra is stability, so all in all, it's a good thing.
But, like you with Firefox, there are some things I want quickly. My multimedia apps are fairly bleeding edge, for example.
