2. I feel your pain. Why they suck is their own fault.

At least with Linux they've actually designed it around users actually using the system. Every other unix I've used - Sun, AIX, and HP - it's like they stopped worrying about the user experience back in 1970. All their vi's suck - for god's sake, load VIM! And who the f* uses it in compatibility mode except in rare cases? And why the hell do I have to type stty erase ^H and be forced to choose between Backspace and Delete. I know there's ways around this stuff but my god keyboards are pretty standard these days - at least in terms of the keys. And ksh and csh could learn a few things from bash. Is it pride or laziness? Lame, lame lame!

Especially AIX! :D
