anyone familiar with the Ming library? (SWF-file generator)

I've been fooling around with it a little and it seems to work pretty good for the most part. But I'm having a devil of a time getting the sound parts to work correctly. I prefer the python interface, but I couldn't get sound to work, so I installed php today, even though I've never used php before. When I try to run the sample programs with sound I get a segmentation fault with php and with python I get bad argument-type errors. It seems like a potentially very interesting library, but it seems poorly maintained. Anyone experienced with it? Thanks!
