I have to second Hypno's sound problems

I have to second Hypno's sound problems
This is weird.
I have d/l and installed LAME from several sources.
Each time it appears to put the file libmp3lame.so in the /usr/lib directory

however, when I try to get audacity to find it... it is not there

Well, .so.0 should actually be there... so I guess so.1 is what I mean.

2. it says it wants .so
and it still says it wants me to find it, but now it is working...
