How do I get rid of the Favorites Bar in IE8 ?

There are no items listed in it, but it takes up room at the top of the page, serving no purpose. Unchecking "Favorites Bar" accomplishes nothing.

It's not my computer, so save your breath re. other browsers.

Toolbars, untick Favorities bar.

It'll still be there in the Favorites Bar, but at least you won't have to see it. ...
