Is anyone here conversant in Filemake Pro, Microsoft Access, and maybe Bento? |
|
I am really just interested in sharing data between them on a one time basis. I want to enter data on an iPad, including at least one photograph per item, and then export that to Filemaker and then to Access, or maybe even direct to Access.
At the moment, I only need to know if this is possible. I can get into the how later.
Thanks!
(note: I also posted this in the Macintosh forum. Hopefully this won't be seen as spam.)

1. You may have trouble with the photos |
|
In Filemaker they are stored in a container field and these can not be exported.
My Access knowledge is rusty, having used Filemaker for a number of years however at the moment I'm converting an existing database from Access to Filemaker and extracting the data by exporting to Excel and from there into Filemaker.
This works very well but the drawback is pictures can neither be exported nor imported.

2. Thanks. That's what I'm finding out. |

The route from FM to Excel is as smooth as smooth can be for data. But the pictures seem to be a non-starter.

how this project works out - did you find a way to send pics from iPhone to some kind of format that is readable in a database or Excel? Or did you find another solution.
