Is anyone familiar with the SEARCH.CONDUIT.COM virus?? |
|
I can not get rid of it.
It somehow got attached to my Google Chrome and it takes it over. It slows the internet response time, f's up the scrolling, and redirects any search engine you try to use to BING.. Ahhh...
I have tried, to no avail:
1. Complete scan 2. 3 Different approved Malware scans 3. Registry fix 4. Adding conduit.com to my restricted sites 5. Insured my search tool is set to Google. 7. Deleted all cookies and temp internet files 8. Deleted the conduit associated program and toolbar - that actually worked
Nothing has worked
Any ideas?

1- Do you know the exact filenames of the malware ? Do a hard drive search for those filenames and delete them completely if you can. 2- Back up all your fave Chrome bookmarks, etc to a thumb drive and uninstall Chrome completely. When you uninstall, make sure EVERY location on your hard drive that has Chrome-related data is deleted. Then reinstall it. 3- make sure to virus scan your thumb drive also.
