Hi all,
I received an HP Touchpad as a gift and really like it. I can't, however, log in to DU from it as it says I need to have cookies enabled. There are not a lot of directions to this contraption and I'm wondering if anyone can give me some pointers to get this done. It remembers the passwords for my email and Facebook so this puzzles me greatly.
Thanks for reading and contemplating.

1. What version of WebOS is it running? |
|
Looks like WebOS v3.0.2 has a lot of bug fixes.

are you selecting the "Remember me" checkbox (or what ever the text is)? This option will set your current "dccookie" to expire in the year 2021.. meaning it will be retained between browser sessions. the "dctempcookie" and "dclast" cookies are only used during logon to store a Base64 encoded server timestamp, and are stored for the session only.
I'm not very familiar with webOS... is there a way to view your current cookies?

the box is checked.
Let me investigate under the "about product" page and see if there is a way to see what is there.

stated that HP is aware of the cookie problem (guess it does not work with Blackboard and DCForum logon pages). They expect to have it fixed in a future update.
Some people have had luck by using an SSL connection to the sites that don't save cookies, but it doesn't look like DU supports https.

I used to think I was computer savvy, but I'm finding out with all this new technology, that I'm pretty limited.
You're a dear for helping me. Thanks!
