and I have never had a problem *knock wood* with their food.
My 15 year old beagle mix has been eating Nutro Max for 13 years and she is still going strong. My 2 year old rat terrier has been on Nutro Ultra for a few months, and we have had no problems like those described. My cat eats Nutro Max indoor formula - he will not eat anything else at all - and he is fine as well.
I am so sorry for those pet owners....I have been lucky I guess

did great on it.....stools good and even improved their breath. After 4 years without dogs I got a new Samoyed. I can't get his breath to clear up. he is doing well on the food, stools good, water intake normal etc. He did have bad gas and I went to using Activia yogurt wiht his food. The gas is gone but the breath is still bad. No teeeth issues, blood work okay, breath is just really bad periodicaly during the day. I've been told to try changing his food now. After reading all this, maybe I should.

My beagle mix had super bad breath, but had had dental issues in the past, and she is 15. The vet gave us one round of antibiotics, which Luna had only taken once before in her life, and the breath issue went away.
The vet suggested a monthly dosage - said it is commonplace in older dogs (15 is pretty old for her size).
I opted out of that treatment, but the bad breath never returned.

| 5. yeah, my samoyed is only about 18 months old and his |

teeth are in great shape. The bizarre thing is the breath comes and goes and don't necessarily conincide with eating. A groomer suggested very weak green or lemon tea with his water.

I will have to find out more
Scary, since I've fed Buster Nutro Natural Choice for several years. He has not had any GI issue that he doesn't always have . He has a presumptive dx of giardia, and has occasional flareups. Unfortunately, the vet & I thought for years that it was a food sensitivity and there was damage done to his intestines.
I put Louie on Avoderm Lite last week, as he could stand to lose a pound or two (16.5 lbs at the shelter in August, now at 25 lbs)
I think I'll switch Buster to Wellness - I still have some that Louie was on most recently.

| 7. I pulled my dogs off it last year. |

I have 2 shih tzus and 1 miniature schnauzer mix and they all ate Nutro Max dry. In Feb. last year, one of the shih tzus had 7 seizures one weekend and another one a week later. Because there were so many in a short period of time, the vet put him on potassium bromide. Shortly after him starting the meds, I found an article online from someone else whose dog had seizures which stopped after switching from Nutro Max. I threw out the bag I had and then got them Innova dry.
I then spoke to the vet and asked about trying to see if he could go off the medication and she agreed to try it and see. That was a year ago and there have been no more seizures that I'm aware of. I only buy them that food and treats made by a similar company.

I have a Jack Russell and a Min Pin, both rescues and in about two weeks will have another mixed breed larger dog who we think is part Golden retriever. We have had the Jack russell for five years now and were told to feed Nutro Max rice and lamb dry food when we adopted him. He did so well that our Min pin started getting it too. but in the past month our Jack has had bloody stools and vomiting for no reason. The vet could find nothing wrong and thought it might be his age which is estimated at eight years give or take. You almost never know the true age with rescues. the Min Pin age five or so is vomiting and lethargic and tired out as is the Jack at times. I am glad I saw this because they will eat no more Nutro max of any kind. Does anyone know anything about Royal Canine dog food? It is supposed to be made with no corn or fillers.
