DU animal lovers...please read!
Yesterday, I posted a link to a picture of some puppies who were in a shelter in Indiana. Today, I found out that the poor little pups had been euthanized because the shelter was over crowded. I am so sad, I can't stand it. Here is a link to the shelter -- it is a shelter in a very rural and very poor area of Indiana. It looks like they could use anything and everything that someone might be able to spare. Here is the link on Flickr:

Here are the little pups. The shelter has an arrangement with a company that makes dog beds so that beds can be donated to the shelter at a reduced rate. If you could help them out with this, I'm sure it would be appreciated, also.

I know times are tough for everyone, but this little shelter really seems to be struggling.

Thanks, everyone!

1. How very sad
I know that many shelters will let people foster some of the animals. It frees up their space, so they can take more residents. These guys are adorable and will definitely be adopted- someday. Good luck and thanks for posting.

2. How very, very sad. I will send a contribution...as will my boss.
More shelters need to adopt the philosophy of Nathan Winograd

His book is "Redemption: The Myth of Pet Overpopulation..":

4. Are all shelters in Indiana kill shelters? If not, could this shelter have tried
to get them to a shelter that would keep them until they were adopted out?
