I woke up early as usual, let the dogs out, let the dogs in, fed the dogs, then went into the other room to open the drapes for the cockatoo, and turn on the aquarium light for the corn snake. No snake. Snake gone. Escaped!
So I start the search for the snake, when I hear this commotion in the kitchen. Two of the dogs had decided they wanted to play with the cat and had him cornered under the kitchen table. All I can see is two large wiggling bouvier butts sticking out from under the table. So I rescue the cat, stick the two dogs in another part of the house, and let the third out of his eating area so I can get back to searching for the snake.
I'm tearing the living room apart searching for the snake, when I glanced back into the kitchen, to see the third bouv on the kitchen table. Yes, on it, reaching his head up to the top platform of the kitty tower slobbering all over the poor cat.
I spent most of the day, and night searching for this snake, with no luck. One would think a four foot, well-fed snake would be easy to find. Apparently not. So now my house looks like a tornado hit it, stuff pulled out of closets, furniture askew, and nothing, nothing in its place. That's today's job, putting the Humpty Dumpty house back together again.
The good news is, its very clean behind the refrigerator now and under the stove, and I know which parts of the house could use a little extra cleaning attention. The bad news is still no snake.
