Let Finnegan out last Wednesday (everything seems to happen to him on Wednesday) to play with his family who live next door...his mom Baby (WTF? point siamese-looking) and sibs Crazy (orange marmalade male) and Delilah (tortiseshell female).
Crazy and Finn are having a great time when "puff puff pant pant"...it's Frank The Dog from the neighbor on the other side (Steve), doing his daily lap around the house.
OH SHIT...I go banzai out the door- "FINNEGAN!" Neighbor says "He's OK...he and the little orange one went up the tree."
Crazy was pretty high up, and not saying anything, but Finnegan had gone out on a limb, wasn't sure how to back down, was SCARED and hollering for help for all he was worth.
Finn has a very penetrating meow...has since before his eyes were open. So there's me and my friend (who had come over for a wine-making lesson), trying to coax him down, telling him how clever he was to run up the tree when the dog came, and now he can come down...and around the corner of the house comes Baby...all six pounds of her, fur spiked up, eyes dilated, tail bushed out and ready to rumble, because SOMEBODY'S MESSIN' WITH HER BOY! and god help them, because they're gonna need it once she finds out who.
Neighbor's laughing, cos this little black kitten has THREE females coming to his rescue... but the poor little guy really is scared. So, we get him out of the tree... and the garbage truck comes down the street. Kittens have MANY claws on each of their 17 little feet, did you know that?
Finally got him in the house and he made a bee-line for the litter box...:hide: and didn't want to go out again all day, even though Crazy came and meowed at the door for him to come out and play.

| 2. Everybody all stressed out at your house today. |

I use hydrogen peroxide and antibiotic gel and bandages (on myself). Extra stinky cans for the kitty-boys. Great story! Hope all is calm tonight.

I've found out more than once, the hard way LOL. There's a reason we keep Rescue Remedy (an herbal calmative, good for human and furkid alike) around the house. Poor little tyke. He's young enough to recover. Hope your healing well, too!
Hey, when things calm down, I might have some wine-making questions. I'll have a bumper crop of raspberries and blackberries next year. I've got three 80' rows of hybrid thornless blackberries and am waiting to see what the raspberries will do. There's a 60'x6' planting and we'll see what comes up.
Best of luck with Finn. Give him some extra hugs and pets from us and "the girls" (Doralee , Ashley-Marie and Callalily the calico-collie).

| 4. We use Rescue Remedy ... |
|
One of my Sainted Vets uses a lot of natural medicine. She uses Rescue Remedy as well as Bach Flower remedies.:thumbsup:
We've got a mixture right now we're using (which contains RR as well) that she mixed up for Riktor and Wimsey. Riktor doesn't handle any changes to his routine well...and he was very unhappy about Finnegan. Wimsey wasn't exactly thrilled either-he was 'the baby' of the clowder, and now he's been ousted from that position. Status within the clowder seems to be an amazingly nuanced and complex business.
Funny thing is, they LOVE their remedy! Wimsey sees me with the little bottle in my hand...and he sits down and licks his chops. Giving it to him is no trouble at all. Riktor likes it too- he's too cool to actually show anticipatory behavior, but he also takes it with NO resistance or problem. They are happier with their world, and more accepting of Finnegan.
