| cat buries favorite toy in her litter box?! |
|
Okay--the first time I thought it was an accident, but then she did it again the next day. She is taking her favorite toy mouse (shaggy cotton-type fabric) and burying it in her litter box. Can anyone tell me why she would do this?
There are two other cats in the house, one she's friends with and one she's afraid of. But the latter cat doesn't often enter "her" territory of the house where she has her toys. She's a five-and-a-half year old tabby we've had since June, cat-sitting her for my son who is working overseas for a year.
So far the toy is clean and I've just taken it back out and dusted it off, but I'm really wondering if anyone's seen this behavior before and why she'd do this.

| 1. Yes -- our Beezus has done that a couple times |

Usually, she just takes "Buddy" (a leather toy from the end of a cat pole) into the water or food bowl. He's often very hungry or thirsty. Unfortunately, he also dyes the water orange. It can't be healthy.
