| Does anyone here have experience with Siamese cats? |
|
I took Milk Chan to our Vet today, and he diagnosed her with Vestibular disease, due to the nystagmus in her eyes (rapid twitching back and forth).
But, she has no other symptoms of vestibular disease. She walks fine, jumps fine, etc.
Causes of vestibular disease could be idiopathic, ear infection, brain tumor, toxoplasmosis.
Go I've been Googling, and I've found at least 2 veterinary textbooks that say that Siamese have congenital nystagmus that comes with the crossed eyes, just like Milk Chan has.
Does anyone know about this? Could my Vet have jumped the gun on the diagnosis?
I'm concerned about my little girl. x(

| 1. Can you get a second opinion? |
|
I think since you're concerned, and you found a reasonable explanation for the nystagmus, it would be worth it.

| 2. Well, he's an excellent and a receptive Vet, so |

I'll start with talking to him. If that doesn't work, there's a top notch hospital in the next town over that we have a free exam certificate for. And, they have...24 Vets on staff! :o
Including a veterinary ophthalmologist and neurologist. :)
So that's plan B.
