Kitty with emotional problem
At least I think that's what it is. Imhotep passed away last month, and his son Quark has been piddling on the bed whenever we're not looking. I just hosed down the litter boxes and replaced all the litter, and I hope that works, but I'm open to suggestions on what else to do. He's otherwise fine, eats well, sleeps normally and does his other business in the litter box.

Any thoughts?

1. After a vet has verified that there is nothing physically wrong with him..try Rescue Remedy.
Perhaps he is mourning and the RR will help.

What's Rescue Remedy? I've never heard of it.

Thanks for the advice! :hi:

Bach Flower Essences® and Animals

Animals have emotions too. They feel fear, anger, jealousy, and depression just like us.

The Bach Flower Essences® are able to help our Animals when they have negative emotions just as they help us when we are emotionally out of balance. Unfortunately, we are not able to ask our pet why it acts depressed, but we do know if it misses a friend or gets overly excited around new people.

The Bach Flower Essences® are 100% safe for animals

6. It is
One of his nicknames is Mr. Lovely. He has the sweetest disposition of any cat I've ever met, and he's also the softiest - his fur is so fine, you can hardly tell you're petting him, except for the purring.

He also goes by the nickname Dave, short for his pirate name Dave The White. It sort of stuck. :D

7. The Bach flower remedies are very effective!
Edited on Sun Sep-21-08 06:24 PM by badgerpup
My Sainted Vet has used them on occasion when my guys have developed some behavioral issues due to grief/mourning, new kitten in the family, or too much upheaval in general-
Riktor especially does not do changes well and the Bach flower remedies have helped him be happier and more at ease with his world.

Your Quark looks almost azackly like my Wimsey...except that Wimsicle* Cat has celadon-green eyes....

8. Thank for the rec!
Quark seems better this weekend. I followed him around, and he's piddled in the litterboxes for the past couple of days. I think washing the boxes and making sure the "facemarks" around the door are gone helped.

His sister Neutrino has one blue eye and one green eye, so I can imagine what Wimsey looks like... :pals:

10. He's my little angel
I even had a dream of him with little furry wings...he's so laid back it's not funny.

11. I'm convinced our cats and dogs are angels among us.
They are either hiding their wings or we just can't see them for all the fur.
